Bagel Bagel Bagel (Sing to the Tune of the Dreidle Song)

I made bagels. One of the characteristics that differentiate bagels from bread is that they are boiled before they're cooked. Boiling helps creates a crisp outer crust with tiny bubbles called fish-eyes. Bagels also often contain malt syrup as a sweetening ingredient. The next time I make bagels I'll use less malt. While my bagels looked gorgeous, they were a little too molasses-y sweet and dark and weren't good with cream cheese. Lox would have been revolting.
